K2 and WordPress 2.6 are working properly again

The current nightly of K2 revision 703 and WordPress 2.6 are working correctly together. I have not seen any issues.

A key component is the new plugin to enable the K2 SBM to work with Wordpress. The added k2-disable-widgets.php plugin brings back K2 SBM functionality that were are all used to.

    Weirdly enough, I had to move k2-disable-widgets.php to the plugins directory in order to make things work. I didn’t need to do that in RC5.

    Yes, same here using K2 r703.
    I assume that the new WordPress 2.6 code does not allow the K2 theme to disable the widget function within the theme code? So a separate external plugin id needed.
    Similar to the first disable widget plugin written for WordPress 2.2 and K2 r316, approximately.
