Just upgraded to WordPress 2.8.4 using the automatic feature built into WordPress. Everything went o.k. as expected.
Some web hosts have problems with the auto-update feature not allocating enough space for the update to download. This currently happens on another site I have with a different web host. The only option is manual upgrade or wait for Fantastico install script to be updated to the most current version. Both options are a pain.

Since the free version of Picasa provides more space and less limiting factors compared to Flickr, I am trying out Picasa Web Albums for online storage and organization. Unfortunately, there does not seem to be a web badge or customizable blog widget that works quit like I want.
I am looking for something that can either display a slideshow with multiple choices for picture size of my choosing, so the chosen album can fit in a sidebar of any width of my choosing. Or a simple clean static badge with options for album title not just individual captions and linked to either a full size picture or the album page or both.
I’m currently testing a few options on my sidebar. So far, I do not like the Picasa Web Albums slideshow widget due to the limiting size choice. The static choice limits to only displaying cover image. I t would be nice to display an album with multiple thumbnail images of your choosing.
The Shasin plugin is highly configureable and is the best option so far.
Just upgraded to WordPress 2.8.1 and K2 theme now RC8 1.0. Everything went o.k. as expected.
There was a problem with Last.Fm Records plugin by Jeroen Smeets when using WordPress 2.8.1 but he fixed it quickly with version 1.5.3.
WordPress 2.8 using K2 theme revision r798, everything appears to be working ok.
Still need to find new or adjust plugins and widgets to get site to my liking.
Well, I finally reached over a 1,000,000 credits using BOINC participating in 7 different projects using 4 different Apple Mac computers, old and new.
Upgraded to nightly K2 r778 using WordPress 2.7.1
Everything still working great. The K2 theme is still one of the best WordPress themes for many user types.

Everything works great as expected. I stopped using the K2 Sidebar Manager (SBM), since it was being phased out. I prefer the SBM. The widgets manager does not give you enough options or settings for displaying individual widgets. Mainly, the lack of options with the Pages widget compared to the K2 SBM version.
There is supposed to be a K2 SBM to widget importer in the works. It will be interesting to see how they handle the reduced options.
Finally got around to re-adding my Audi dedication page for my past 1990 Audi Coupe Quattro 20v. See above.
As the title states, I’m using the K2 theme. Actually, I have always used the most current nightly version which is r743 as of 12/18/08.
K2 works great with WordPress 2.7. I used K2 from development WordPress 2.7 bleeding-edge to final release with no real problem. I may try WordPress 2.8 bleeding-edge just for the hell of it. Stay tuned.
